One of the comments I hear when talking to people about brand photography is that they don’t need “all those” photos. But if you really think about all of the ways you market your business, you may find that you indeed need all of those photos, and even more!
There are a lot of ways to market a business, and quality brand photography can help you make a good first impression. Here are some ideas of where branding photography can help you get an edge over your competition.
- Business Cards: Why not add a photo to your business card of either you or what you do? Let’s say you’re an interior designer and you create really cool office spaces…a photo of one of those on the back of a business card makes you more memorable.
- Websites: This is an obvious suggestion, sure, but there are many ways to use photography on your website. Maybe a photo or video of your team in action on the home page, a photo of your office environment on the about page, consistent team headshots or a group photo on the team page, and photos of your staff interacting with clients on the services page.
Think of the personality you could add to your brand with custom photography vs. plain old stock photos! Not to mention, changing photos up from time to time keeps your website fresh and helps with your search engine rankings.
- Social Media: Again, obvious, but this is another arena where you need a constant stream of good photography. A variety of images that all have the same feel goes a long way here. Having profile images that are of the same subject or in the same style, but a little different on each platform make your social media pages more interesting to people that follow you in multiple places.
- Advertising: Make a more personal connection to your audience with professional portraits of the individuals or teams that make the magic happen.
- Proposals & Presentations: Make a memorable impression with full-page, eye-catching images of your team, products, or services.
- Signage: Why have just a logo on a sign when you can add personality with a professional photo? Realtors use this technique all the time. It’s easier to catch a viewer’s attention with custom photography that’s unique to you or your company.
The bottom line is, there are a lot of ways to use your branding photos across all of your marketing channels. In fact, in today’s fast-paced, image-fueled world, it’s good practice to change things up periodically to keep people coming back for more.
